Counselling
We all live in the same hectic world – some of us deal with it better than others.
Counselling is a type of talking therapy that allows a person to talk about their problems and feelings in a confidential and dependable environment.
Counselling can be used to help with many different mental health conditions and life affecting issues, including:
-
Relationships
-
Couples
-
Bereavement and Grief
-
Long-term illnesses
-
Eating disorders, such as anorexia and bulimia
After a long career in teaching, I found myself working more and more with emotional behaviours and parents struggling to deal with understanding how to deal with different behaviours. This was a catalyst in starting my change in career into Counselling and I offer counselling for teachers suffering with stress and other areas that they are finding difficult with the pressures placed on them in the educational environment and the strain that juggling home and work can bring.
I enjoy working with students finding it difficult to cope with the pressures of the academics of school, exam stress, panic and anxiety around school/university. I have seen effective results in teens moving from not wanting to face exams and school to going on to achieving their dreams.
Too frequently we are seduced or coerced into spending more time, energy and focus on our work, career, or job than on our home lives, our family time, our personal interests, or our health and well-being. It follows that finding the energy to attend to our BIG dreams and aspirations can become an after-thought, or a never-event
My clients come to me to discuss all kinds of different issues, some in their private lives and some in their work lives – often both. I will help you work out what’s important and take the necessary steps to make sure you gain the most from your life.
I also work with organisations looking for an executive coach to guide and challenge their leaders to realise their full potential.
